Biography

Born Harrogate, Yorkshire, UK 1956.

Cheltenham Grammar School 1968-74

BA(hons) Brighton Art College 1975-78

After leaving art college I travelled for a while before settling into work as a full time freelance illustrator. With an agent in London, for many years I undertook a variety of work with the emphasis being primarily on book and video covers.

I began to concentrate more on illustrated publications of all kinds from children's books and part-works to reference books and encyclopedias. Consequently, I have been commissioned by most UK publishers along with many design groups, advertising agencies and web designers.

Since 1997 I have moved away from the traditional methods of painting to computer based artwork principally using Photoshop and Illustrator programmes.

Away from professional work I am Chairman of Sussex County Arts Club where I also run a weekly drawing class. I have a wide interest in all forms of art and music as well as being a struggling blues guitarist!

I am married and live in Brighton with my wife Carrie and our two sons Will and Oli
